CREATE & CONNECT
Join our weekly Open Atelier lessons and bring your own clothing design to life with personal guidance from Emma, the maker behind IKIGAIA!
WHEN & WHERE
Once a week, the atelier doors open to everyone who loves to sew and create in an inspiring slow-fashion setting. The Open Atelier days alternate weekly between Tuesday evenings (18:30 – 21:00) and Thursday mornings (10:00 – 12:30), so you can choose either to wind down your day or freshly start it with some mindful handcrafting. There is space for 4 creatives in a calm, open and supportive space where there is room to exchange ideas, and slow dow. It's recommended to reserve your spot in advance if you’d like to come regularly. The atelier is located in B46, the makers collective in Rotterdam Overschie. There’s free parking available and a bus stop (bus 33) located just across the street. Location: Burgemeester Bosstraat 46, 3043 GD Rotterdam
MATERIALS, PATTERNS & TOOLS
You can ask questions about your sewing project and use the sewingmachines, lockmachine and ironing machines. Fabrics, sewing thread and accessories such as zippers and buttons are not included in the lessons, so you need to bring these yourself. You are free to bring your own ideas to the lessons with an example of what you’d like to create (like photos, sketches, garments, or patterns). Together, we’ll explore the best way to bring your vision to life. Often, we’ll start with a similar or basic pattern that we adjust, or we’ll create a custom one from scratch. We also have a small selection of clothing patterns and books available you can use.
BOOK A SINGLE LESSON (2,5 HOURS) - €40,-

PRIVATE BEGINNER LESSONS (2 X 2 HOURS) - €100,-
If you're completely new to sewing and have never worked with a sewing machine before, this private lesson is the perfect starting point. Over two sessions of two hours each, you'll receive full attention and have plenty of space to ask questions. You'll get to know the sewing machine, lock machines and other essential tools. By the end, you’ll have made your own tote bag. A great way to gain basic sewingskills and build confidence behind the machine.
