OPEN ATELIER - PRIVATE SEWING LESSON
ABOUT THE PRIVATE BEGINNER LESSON The beginner lesson consists of two private lessons. Together we’ll schedule two dates (on either a Tuesday or a Thursday) that fit your agenda, so you can learn the basics of sewing at your own pace and in a calm, creative environment. The private beginner sewing lessons cost €45 per session. After completing the beginner course, you can book an open studio sewing session for €35 per session. YOU WILL LEARN - How a sewing machine works - Basic stitches and sewing techniques - How to work with patterns - Understanding and using different fabrics and notions - How to make a simple tote bag as your first project WHAT'S INCLUDED - You’ll be assigned a sewing machine for your lessons, and have access to other equipment like the overlock machine and ironing station. - All basic tools such as rulers, cutting mats, measuring tapes, pencils, chalk, and more are available for use in the studio. - Tea and coffee are provided. Feel free to bring your own water bottle or snacks. WHAT TO BRING: - Your own small sewing supplies such as fabric scissors, seam ripper, pins, needles, and thread snips. Please note: the (beginner) sewing lessons are not patternmaking classes. I’m happy to guide and advise you as you trace or modify your patterns, but this course does not cover full professional pattern drafting. MATERIALS & TOOLS The studio has a small selection of materials available, such as fabrics, threads, interfacing, zippers, buttons, and pattern paper. You can use or purchase these in consultation with me. AND AFTER THAT? After completing the two beginner lessons, you’ll be ready to start working independently on your own sewing projects! Every Tuesday morning (10:00–12:30) and Thursday evening (18:30–21:00) the studio is open for Open Atelier sewing sessions, where you can reserve a spot with sewing machine for 2.5 hours and continue creating at your own pace.
