WORKSHOP DYEING WITH FLOWERS - 19 JULY
This workshop is specially for children aged 6 years and older! In collaboration with Natuurstad, we offer this creative nature workshop to help kids connect with the natural world in a playful and hands-on way. BUNDLE DYEING In the Botanical Garden in Kralingen, Rotterdam, we grow a variety of flowers that are perfect for natural “bundle” dyeing. During this workshop, children will discover the magical process of bundle dyeing; a natural technique that transfers the colors of flowers and leaves directly onto fabric. WHAT WE’LL DO Step by step, the kids will learn how to create their own botanical print using dried and fresh flowers, leaves, and other plant materials. We will explore: - Which flowers and leaves release the strongest pigments - How to arrange a design for layered, organic effects -The transformation that happens when heat, time, and nature work together Bundle dyeing creates soft, dreamy patterns and every piece is completely unique. It’s a slow and mindful process that connects children to nature in a magical and tangible way. At the end of the workshop, each child will take home their own naturally dyed bandana, infused with the colors of spring.
