WE ARE COMING TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE OUR SHARED LOVE FOR VINTAGE, NATURE, AND CREATIVITY IN THIS SPECIAL UPCYCLE WORKSHOP! NATURAL TEXTILE DYEING In this hands-on workshop, you’ll explore the vibrant hues of nature and learn how to bring them to life on your own vintage treasure with natural dyeing techniques. From preparing your textiles to creating stunning prints with plants, you’ll learn which natural materials give which colors, how different mordants change the shades, and how to use tannins. Includes all natural dyes and a vintage 100% cotton piece from the store. For an additional €10, you can choose a 100% silk piece instead. HOW IT WORKS? Reserve a spot for the workshop. From Februrary 2nd you can choose the vintage piece you’d like to dye - curated by Marijke especially for this workshop. You can select your item in the store or from photos we’ll send you. The earlier you choose, the more options you’ll have! We’ll prepare your piece (deep-cleaning and mordanting) in advance, so you can start dyeing right away during the workshop. PRACTICAL INFORMATION The workshop starts at 19:00 and will be hosted in the Vintage store Wild Gems in Amsterdam! We’ll begin the workshop with A heart-opening cup of cacao, setting beautiful intentions for the creative process. Then, Emma from slow-fashion label IKIGAIA will guide you through the magical art of natural dyeing, helping you upcycle your own vintage piece, hand-dyed with the colors of nature. Herbal teas and snacks will be provided, and you’ll also take home a natural dye hand-out so you can continue experimenting at home. CANCELATION Cancellation of the workshop is possible and free of charge up to 1 week in advance. If you cancel from 1 week before the workshop, a 50% refund will be made. If you cancel 24 hours in advance, the right to a refund will lapse. This also applies with a no-show. IKIGAIA reserves the right to cancel the workshop up to 6 days before the start of the workshop if there are not enough participants. There is not enough participation if less than 4 paying participants have registered up to 1 week before the workshop. No prior experience? No problem!
