Kala Cotton is one of the last remaining pure, indigenous cotton varieties in the world. Grown in the arid lands of Gujarat, India this ancient cotton thrives without irrigation, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers, making it a truly sustainable choice. Its strong, unbleached fibers are hand-harvested, spun, and woven using time-honored techniques, supporting local artisans and preserving India’s rich textile heritage. With its distinct texture and deep connection to the land, Kala Cotton is more than just a fabric, it is a testament to slow, ethical fashion rooted in tradition and respect for nature.
Natural dyes are vibrant colour pigments derived from plants, flowers, herbs, minerals, and other natural sources. Unlike synthetic dyes, they are eco-friendly and connect us to ancient, sustainable textile traditions.

The process of dyeing with natural materials is slow and mindful process. Each step, from preparing the fabric to extracting colour and applying it, requires time, patience, and care. This deliberate pace ensures every piece is unique, with subtle variations that reflect the beauty of nature. Natural dyes are "living colors," which means they may evolve, change, or gently fade over time. This natural process makes them special and requires to treat them with a lot of love and care.

To care for naturally dyed items:

Hand wash in cold water with mild, pH-neutral soap.

Keep them out of direct sunlight when not wearing them.

Don't use too much heat when ironing. Iron inside out or handsteam from short distance.
To stay true to our handmade slow-fashion values, we work with monthly pre-order windows. This keeps production thoughtful, low-waste, and allows us to give every single piece the time and attention it deserves.

Pre-ordered pieces are made especially for you after purchase, which means the item you see in the photo is the sample, not the exact piece you will receive.

While I aim to recreate the design as faithfully as possible, Natural dyes may express themselves slightly differently in tone and pattern on each item. This uniqueness is part of the beauty we embrace through the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi; celebrating imperfection, individuality, and the organic expression of nature’s colors.

How it works:
Pre-orders open on the first day of every new month and is open for two weeks. After pre-orders close, we begin making all orders. It takes up to two weeks to create each item, so depending on when you order, your piece will be ready to ship within 2 to 4 weeks.
